LUSAS is committed to protecting your
data privacy and security. When you browse the LUSAS website(s), or
submit personal details to us by online or paper forms, by email, by telephone, or by other means,
or register and use a cloud-based software
service that we may provide, we may collect personal and
usage information
about you. This privacy policy explains the collection, dissemination
and use of your personal data.
Scope of this privacy policy
This privacy policy applies to all
personal data processed by employees of LUSAS. If you have consented
to our use of information about you for a specific purpose, you have
the right to change your mind at any time, but this will not affect
any processing that has already taken place. If at any time you have
questions about our practices or any of your rights as described

What information do we collect?
Personal
data
When you browse the LUSAS website(s), or
submit personal details to us by online or paper forms, by email, by
telephone, or by other means, we may receive personal information about you. This
may comprise information such as your name, email address,
organisation or company name, postal address, telephone or mobile
number, depending on the activity. By submitting your details, LUSAS
may retain your personal information for its
legitimate business interests to enable LUSAS and its related third
parties (such as a contractually appointed regional distributor or
reseller that covers your location) to provide you with the information
or content you requested. LUSAS may also share your personal
information with selected third parties to enable us to contact you by
email.
Usage data
If you register and use
the cloud-based LUSAS Evaluation version we record the type of
software used (e.g. LUSAS Modeller or LUSAS Solver, and the duration
of each use. Currently no other additional software or hardware data
is recorded.
Third-party
cookie data
By visiting or browsing the LUSAS
website(s), and depending upon settings made in your internet browser,
the following third-party cookies (a piece of information in the form
of a very small text file) may also be written to your computer's hard
drive. The following third-party cookies are in use at the date of
this privacy notice:

Adwords cookies enable LUSAS to assess which of our Adwords adverts
have been visited at any time for popularity, statistical
and search term or keyword identification reasons, including to
record which advert visited has resulted in an information request
being made via the LUSAS website. This
information is collected solely for statistical purposes and
cannot be used to identify individuals.
- Google
Analytics cookies enable LUSAS to assess which web pages are being viewed at
any time for popularity, statistical and search term or keyword
identification reasons. This
information is collected solely for statistical purposes and
cannot be used to identify individuals.
- Facebook
cookies enable LUSAS to assess which of our web pages are being viewed at
any time for popularity, statistical and search term or keyword
identification reasons. When a visitor views a LUSAS web page
Facebook's web servers automatically log the browser's domain
name, the date and time of visit, IP address, the current page url
and the current page title, and other general hardware
information. Session cookies keep track of your current visit and
how you navigate the site. Persistent cookies enable recognition
of you as a repeat visitor when you return. The session cookies
will be deleted from your computer when you close your browser.
Persistent cookies will be removed on a pre-determined expiry
date, or when deleted by you.
- StatCounter
cookies enable LUSAS to assess which of our web pages are being viewed at
any time for popularity, statistical and search term or keyword
identification reasons. When a visitor views a particular LUSAS
web page StatCounter's web servers automatically log the browser's
domain name, the date and time of visit, IP address, browser type,
operating system version, screen resolution, referring link, the
current page url and the current page title. This information
is collected solely for statistical purposes and cannot be used to
identify individuals.
- Communigator
cookies enable LUSAS to assess which of our web pages are being viewed at
any time for popularity, statistical and search term or keyword
identification reasons. When a visitor views a particular LUSAS
web page Communigator's web servers automatically log the
browser's domain name, the date and time of visit, IP address,
referring link, the current page url and the current page title. Communigator
uses a combination of both session and persistent cookies. Session
cookies keep track of your current visit and how you navigate the
site. Persistent cookies enable recognition of you as a repeat
visitor when you return. The session cookies will be deleted from
your computer when you close your browser. Persistent cookies will
be removed on a pre-determined expiry date, or when deleted by
you.
- Optimonk
cookies are used to identify which particular LUSAS web pages are
being visited for online form display purposes. The information
collected by Optimonk cannot be used to identify individuals
unless a pop-up sign-up form is completed and submitted. If you
complete a sign-up form to receive occasional LUSAS emails from us
you may unsubscribe from receiving further emails by clicking an
unsubscribe link provided.
- Livechat
provides a real-time online chat service on selected pages of our
LUSAS website(s). When signing-in to use this service, your name
and email address is required. Other personal data such as your
geo-location, profile picture, network, username, user ID, age
range, language, country may be collected by Livechat, according
to its privacy policy, depending on your privacy settings.
- AddtoAny
provide social media forwarding buttons as used on selected LUSAS
web pages. Its privacy
policy states that AddToAny does not store personal data and all
IP addresses are anonimized
Controlling and deleting cookies
If you wish to restrict or block the
cookies which may be set by use of the LUSAS website, or indeed any
other website, you may do this through your browser settings. The Help
function within your browser should tell you how. Alternatively, you

variety of browsers. You will also find details on how to delete
cookies from your computer as well as more general information about
cookies. For information on how to do this on the browser of your

Why we process your information
We process your personal information on the basis of certain legitimate
business interests, but only if necessary for the purpose we
collected it for. We will also process personal information on the basis of
contractual and transactional obligation where necessary. Processing

LUSAS product or services information, attending a LUSAS
presentation or training course, or requesting a trial of our software,
you may be asked to provide your email address, telephone number,
company name and location. LUSAS may use this personal information
to engage with you regarding product information, pricing,
order details, or to
send you the download link of the product(s) requested via email, and may also send you other LUSAS-related
information to benefit you in your assessment, purchasing or
continuing use or the software.

interact with you as a nominated Liaison Contact for your
organisation. Our LUSAS License Agreement requires nominated
Liaison Contacts to be specified as requirement for using our
software, support and update service. We process and liaise with
these contacts on the basis of contractual and transactional
obligation.

process financial transactions. In some situations LUSAS may
use personal information that you supply such as financial, credit
card and payment information to process your order. Any personal
information is only used for completing the purchase transaction,
and only the minimum necessary information is retained thereafter
for administration purposes.

provide assistance through our support channels. You may
choose to submit information regarding an issue you are
experiencing with our software or our services. When you contact
one of our technical support representatives directly or otherwise
engage with our support team, you will be asked to provide any of
the following: your contact information, a summary of the problem
you are experiencing, project data, device information,
documentation of the issue you are having, screenshots or
information that would be helpful in resolving the issue. This
information is never disclosed to a third party (unless your
support should be obtained through a contractually appointed regional distributor or
reseller that covers your location) and
may only be used to assist in resolving an issue you may
experience with our products.

engage with related and contractually appointed third parties.
LUSAS may share your personal data with related third parties
(such as a regional distributor or reseller that covers your
location) in connection with services or training that these
individuals or entities perform for or with LUSAS software. These
related third parties are restricted from using this data in any
way other than to provide services for LUSAS software or for the
collaboration in which they and LUSAS are contractually engaged,
by supplying you with the information, training, or consulting
services you requested. Contractually appointed third
parties are carefully selected by LUSAS and are obligated to keep
your data secure. LUSAS may also share your personal information
with selected other contractually appointed third parties from
time to time to enable us to contact you by email.

identify and prevent fraud. LUSAS may use your personal data
where the processing is strictly necessary for the purpose of
preventing fraud. This could include verifying that the registered
address of the cardholder for a particular credit or debit card is
the same as the cardholder’s normal place of residence or work.
You have the right to object to our processing of your information in the
above mentioned ways if you wish by contacting us at privacy@lusas.com.
Sharing of information
- In
general. Our policy is not to disclose personally identifiable
information to unrelated or non-contractually assigned third
parties.
- With related and contractually appointed third parties.
LUSAS may share your personal data with related third parties
(such as a regional distributor or reseller that covers your
location) or a contracted service provider to enable us to carry
out our legitimate business interests.
- Responses to legal requests. LUSAS
reserves the right to share your information to respond to duly
authorised information requests of governmental authorities or
where required by law.
Data storage and security
- Information storage and
security. While we implement safeguards designed to
protect your information, no security system is impenetrable and
due to the inherent nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee
that data, during transmission through the Internet or while
stored on our systems or otherwise in our care, is absolutely safe
from intrusion by others.
- How long we keep
information. If you, or your company or organisation is a
client of LUSAS we retain your personal information for as long as
you, or your parent company or organisation remains a licensed
LUSAS client, and for a reasonable period thereafter in case you
or it decides to re-activate the use of our LUSAS software. If you
are not a LUSAS client we only retain your information, for as
long as we need it to undertake any of the processes stated
previously. After expiry or review, we will either delete or
anonymise your information or, if this is not possible (for
example, because the information has been stored in backup
archives), then we will securely store your information and
isolate it from any further use until deletion is possible.
How can you control your information?
You can control the information we have
about you and how we use it in several ways. You can:
- Review
and correct. You may review, revise, and correct the personal
data that is held by LUSAS about you by sending an email to privacy@lusas.com.
- Request data portability.
You may request an electronic file of the personal data that is
held by LUSAS about you by sending an email to privacy@lusas.com.
- Delete your information.
You may request that we erase personal data that is held by LUSAS
about you by sending an email to privacy@lusas.com.
Please note, however, that we may need to retain certain
information for record keeping purposes, or to comply with our
legal obligations.
- Request we stop using your
information. You may ask us to stop accessing, storing,
using and otherwise processing your information where you believe
we don't have the appropriate rights to do so. Where you gave us
consent to use your information, you may contact us to withdraw
that consent, but this will not affect any processing that has
already taken place at the time.
- Opt out of communications.
You may opt out of receiving email communications from us by using
the unsubscribe link within each email, or by contacting us by
other means.
Other important privacy information
- Personal data about minors
and children. LUSAS does not knowingly collect data from
or about children under 16 without the permission of
parent(s)/guardian(s). If we learn that we have collected personal
information from a child under 16, we will delete that information
as soon as is reasonable.
- External links. Our
LUSAS website(s) may link to other sites created and maintained by
other public and/or private-sector organizations. When you
transfer to an outside website, you are leaving the LUSAS
domain(s), and LUSAS privacy policies no longer apply.
How will you know if the privacy policy is
changed?
LUSAS may update its privacy policy
from time to time. If we make any material changes we will notify you
either by email or by means of a notice on the LUSAS website prior to
the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review
the privacy page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
LUSAS privacy contact and collaboration with
authorities
LUSAS has appointed a privacy officer
who may be reached by email at privacy@lusas.com.
The privacy officer will investigate complaint handling and data
breach notification, and will also monitor regulatory changes and
consult the regulatory authority where implementation of a regulatory
or technological change leads to doubt.
