Typical warning message from LUSAS Solver text output file (*.OUT):
***WARNING*** STEP REDUCTION IN PROGRESS
(NONLCT PROCESSOR)
This message is generally no cause for concern.
It is often preceded by the message:
***WARNING*** CURRENT INCREMENT HAS FAILED TO CONVERGE
(NONLCT PROCESSOR)
Information on the step reduction facility
Obtaining a converged solution in a nonlinear analysis
is dependent on appropriate data in both the nonlinear control
settings as well as the model definition itself. The user
area section "how
to perform a nonlinear analysis" gives more details
on many aspects involved in nonlinear analyses.
Search in the online help for "Nonlinear Solution Procedures"
for general nonlinear information and for "Analysis
CONTROL" to display specific information on the meaning
of the fields in the nonlinear control form. The dialog
help is also of use (Load case properties>
Nonlinear & Transient> Nonlinear> Help...) - this
is context sensitive and should be tried on each of the
nonlinear dialog forms.
